ABOUT US

Takesuye Interiors is a mother/daughter design team specializing in interior design, home renovations, and staging. Based in Washington, DC, we have completed projects in California, Arizona, Florida, New York, and Delaware; as well as numerous local projects. We believe in a mix of styles, materials, and finishes.

We have many years of residential design experience. Lisa began her career doing interiors with Hugh Newell Jacobsen, moving on to training in New York and a semester at Yale. She is also a licensed realtor. Kara has done project management in high-end commercial office furniture design and sales. She is trained in lighting design and specification from her work with Circa Lighting.

Our work comprises residential design and renovation, kitchen and bath layout/design/specification, landscape projects, lighting design and selection. We have done commercial spaces, professional offices, and retail pop-ups. Our clients turn to us through multiple houses, moves, and generations; downsize apartments and upsize second homes; their downtown offices and outdoor spaces.

Our staging is an outgrowth of our design and real estate knowledge. Our staged homes are warm and inviting, clean and elegant. A house should feel collected and authentic, not all one style/era/source. We stage with our own inventory, which includes original art, classic sofas, slipper chairs, textured neutrals, canvas and linen slipcovers, furniture with patina and age, painted tables, high end fabrics, and lighting. We have extensive experience and knowledge of the local real estate market and are able to customize our staging for your targeted demographic.
